How we work with engineering firms

Every project starts with a free teardown of the site you have, and every price is fixed before we start.

What we bring

Strategy, design, writing and development in one small team, with a fixed price agreed before we start.

  • We get to know your firm

Before we design anything, we talk with your principals and learn your projects, your clients and the people you want to hire.

  • Design that sets you apart

An identity and website built around your own projects, with line drawings no other firm will have.

  • A partner after launch

We stay on to keep the site current as projects finish, people join and the firm grows.

Where most firms start

Website build

6–8 weeks · fixed price

Strategy, design, copy and build, with a fixed scope and a fixed price. Your team gets a site it can update without calling anyone.

  • Project, people and careers pages your team can edit
  • Copy written from interviews with your principals
  • Webflow by default, WordPress if your team prefers it
  • Search and AI-answer basics built in

After launch

Care plan

Monthly · Upkeep or Growth

Starts the day the site launches. Upkeep covers hosting, security and edits; Growth adds new project pages, team news and ongoing search work.

  • New projects, people and job openings, added for you
  • A one-page report each month: applicants, project views, search
  • A quarterly review on the Growth plan
  • Six-month minimum

Identity and illustration

Brand & drawings

Identity and project drawings

A refreshed identity, and line drawings of your own projects: the bridge, the plant, the soil under the slab.

  • Logo, type and color refresh
  • Brand guidelines your team can use
  • Project drawings, one at a time or as a set
  • Proposal and SF330 templates on request

Questions

How much does a website cost?

Most builds land between $15,000 and $30,000, depending on the number of pages, how much copy we write and whether we move an existing site. You get a fixed price after the teardown call. Care plans are $1,500 a month for Upkeep and $3,000 for Growth.

How long does it take?

Six to eight weeks from kickoff to launch for most firms. A site with a large project archive takes longer, and we'll tell you before we start.

Our work comes from referrals. Do we need a better website?

Referrals send people to your site, and the site shapes what they think next. In Hinge Marketing's research, 80.8% of professional-services buyers looked at a firm's website before hiring, and 51.9% had ruled out a referred firm before speaking with it. Those studies are from 2014 and 2016; the habit hasn't gone away.

Our last website project stalled. How is this different?

Most stall while the firm tries to write its own copy. We interview your principals and write it ourselves, the scope and price are fixed up front, and the build runs six to eight weeks.

Can our team update the site ourselves?

Yes. We build it so your marketing coordinator can add a project, a person or a job opening without touching code, and we train them at launch.

We're on WordPress. Do we have to switch?

No. We build on Webflow by default because it needs no plugin updates, but if your team knows WordPress we can build there. We'll recommend whichever costs you less to keep running.

What about SEO and AI search?

Every build includes the basics: clean structure, fast pages, and project pages written so search engines and AI answer tools can understand them. The Growth plan keeps working on it each month.

Do you write the copy?

We can, and most firms ask us to. You have the facts and not the time. We interview your principals, write it, and you approve every word.

We were just acquired, or we're changing our name. Can you help?

Yes. A brand refresh starts at $8k: the new name or endorsement line, the logo, type and color, and a site that tells clients and staff what changed.

What don't you do?

Paid ads, lead generation and proposal writing. We'll design proposal and SF330 templates your team can fill in.

Send us your website.

We'll look at it the way a selection committee and a job candidate would, and send back three specific fixes within a week. No pitch attached.
